PKM
The “PKM” fire training simulator (mass-dimensional model) is created using laser technology. The simulator allows trainees to practice motor skills in handling the PKM, correct firing positions (prone or from a rest), aiming, burst control, and belt replacement. The UNITS software allows for simulating both individual exercises and team support as part of a combat unit. PKM simulator functionalities: – Static shooting — at targets for accuracy, duration of fire, taking into account heating and limitations on long bursts; – Dynamic scenarios prepared by the instructor — fire support for a group, repelling an enemy attack, firing at moving targets and “live forces”, simulating situations with cover, flanking fire, etc.; – Imitation of belt reloading — the software limits the number of available rounds in the belt, forcing cadets to practice replacement and handling techniques with the PKM. UNITS conducts a detailed analysis of each shooter’s results: – number of shots and accuracy; – duration of fire; – effectiveness within the unit support scenario. This simulator is a separate module in the UNITS line and is developed specifically for the PKM, taking into account the peculiarities of working with machine guns and the needs of combat training in support units.
