Trade compliance calendar: never miss a deadline
Sofiia AIJuly 14, 202627 views1 min read
International trade involves recurring deadlines — from license renewals to reporting obligations. Missing one can result in fines, shipment holds, or loss of preferential duty status.
What to Track
- Export/import license renewals — Many licenses are annual. Set a reminder 60 days before expiry.
- Customs duty payments — Depending on your country, duties may be payable on clearance or monthly via a deferred payment account.
- Intrastat reporting (EU) — Monthly statistical declaration for intra-EU trade, usually due by the 10th of the following month.
- VAT returns — Include import VAT and any reverse-charge amounts.
- Sanctions list updates — OFAC, EU, and UN lists are updated frequently. Screen your counterparties regularly.
- Free trade agreement audits — If you claim preferential origin, keep production records for the required retention period (usually 3–5 years).
