Understanding active vs inactive referrals

Not all referrals count equally toward your tier and commissions. Understanding the difference between active and inactive referrals helps you focus your efforts.
Active Referrals
A referral is considered active when the referred company completes at least one meaningful platform action:
- Listing a product in their catalog.
- Sending or responding to an RFQ.
- Completing company verification (KYB).
- Upgrading to a paid subscription.
Inactive Referrals
A referral that has only registered but not taken any meaningful action is considered inactive. Inactive referrals:
- Do not count toward your tier level.
- Do not generate ongoing commissions.
- Still earned you the initial signup FTR bonus.
How to Activate Referrals
If you see many inactive referrals, consider reaching out to them with a helpful message. Offer to walk them through the platform, suggest they list their first product, or point them to the Getting Started guides in the Help Center.
